Nick Mitchell
for State House
District 8

ABOUT NICK
I've lived in Cleveland since I was in the 4th grade and proudly graduated from White County High School in 2011. I then graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Film and Digital Media production and now work professionally as a freelance production sound mixer for media projects.
Additionally, I work as a Youth Pastor in a small Presbyterian church in the North Georgia mountains where I teach my kids about grace, community, and God's infinite love.
My father once sat me down as a teenager and told me there were two things in life that would get a person killed. Politics and religion. So naturally I dove headfirst into both.
I've been interested in the political process since I was young. I was initially a Republican, but after getting out into the world and meeting and befriending people from all walks of life, I realized that the GOP agenda did much more to harm average working people than help, so I made the switch to the Democratic Party.
I decided to jump into the race for State House District 8 because this district deserves a choice. For too long, Republicans have had no opposition to answer to in this area - nobody to question their policies and decisions or to compromise with. And the people of District 8 have had no one to stand up for them against the GOP's anti-worker agenda. With your help, we can change that.

Nearly 1/5th of our fellow Georgians are living without insurance. Let's change that by expanding Medicaid access!
When big corporations and the ultra wealthy get tax breaks and special deals from the government, they pay you as little as they can get away with. As a hard-working Georgian, you deserve BETTER!
The far-right has invaded our places of worship and stolen faith from the faithful. Our God created us to be loving reflections of his own image, not self-righteous gatekeepers. There is nothing Christian about Christian Nationalism.
